Sadly, when the set is assembled the plastic train tracks both have grooves on the ends instead of a groove on one side and a tab on the other. This means that the tracks will change orientation from the entrance to the exit. If an extended track is built, the pieces will not connect together in a circuit because they will have two grooves where the circuit would connect. Adding a second set would resolve the issue, but as a standalone set out of the box it will not be compatible with other standard track pieces.
